We are the original designers of clue-based treasure hunts that teach effective collaboration, communication and decision-making skills. Since 1988, we have created urban sleuthing adventures for more than 20,000 enthusiastic participants. Our award-winning events emphasize team-building, collaborative problem solving and creative thinking, and showcase the secret treasure spots of San Francisco and the Bay Area.
San Francisco Treasure Hunts founder Jayson Wechter is a former journalist and personnel manager, an amateur historian and a human resources investigator and consultant who draws on his professional experiences to produce intellectually challenging treasure hunts for corporate team-building, social events and tour groups.
Our Chinese New Year Treasure Hunt is the largest and most popular treasure hunt of its kind in the United States. Its inventive clues and unique, little-known treasure spots draw thousands of spirited participants who return year after year for this exhilarating, fun-filled event. Our events are scavenger hunts for information found at unique locations (many connected with San Francisco’s colorful history and culture) rather than for particular objects. They require brainwork and ingenuity, as teams solve clues or puzzles leading to the secret treasure spots of San Francisco and the Bay Area.
The next Chinese New Year Treasure Hunt will be on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Justin Herman Plaza, San Francisco CA Jayson Wechter's SF Chinese New year Treasure Hunt is the largest benefit treasure hunt in the United States, held on the night of San Francisco's Chinese New Year Parade. Treasure hunting teams have four hours to solve sixteen clues leading them to obscure landmarks, forgotten architectural delights and vestiges of San Francisco's colorful past. Players can come with a team already organized, or can join like-minded hunters at the event; it's a great way to make new friends.
