Washington (George Washington’s profile appears on the quarter dollar coin) Square Park. There is a large stone bench at the north-east corner of the park with a plaque memorializing Juana Briones y Tapia De Miranda, who raised cattle (stock) and grew vegetables on this site in the 1830s and 1840s. Liguria Bakery is located across the street; a mural on its exterior wall depicts their oven (“a hot spot where uprisings occur”).
